Wayne Dunn

Wayne Dunn is an international business and project leader with 15 years of senior level global experience. He maintains a particularly strong network in Ghana that extends horizontally and vertically across sectors, regions and alliances throughout the country. Globally his projects have won prestigious awards such as the World Bank Development Innovation Award, have been developed into case studies by Stanford and other Universities, and have featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal. Across Africa, Wayne’s innovation, entrepreneurial and advisory expertise is sought by businesses, governments, NGOs and groups from public, private, education and civil society sectors. As an action-orientated and results-driven visionary, he consistently delivers strong results globally, in Africa and particularly Ghana by: • Negotiating complex resource agreements with governments, NGOs, communities and other stakeholders; • Leading and directing complex Institutional strengthening and development projects; • Providing strategic advice and support to public, private, educational and civil society sectors; • Negotiating partnerships across a range of sectors including forestry, mining, education, community development, environment and conservation, governments and international organizations; • Undertaking analytical and strategic assignments for public, private and civil society; • Developing philanthropic work with communities and women’s groups • Leading and directing intricate business projects, including a path-finding underwater timber harvesting project • Leading and directing multifaceted development projects, including the first ever private sector project to win a World Bank Development Innovation Award. Wayne’s international roles include: • One of the founding members of the Leadership Council of McGill University’s Institute for the Study of International Development (ISID); • A frequent lecturer worldwide on business and economic issues; • Giving volunteer support to numerous local, national and international organizations (e.g. as Vice-Chairman of the Canadian Council on Africa, on the Advisory Council to the University President and on the Board for the University of Winnipeg’s ground-breaking Master’s Program in Development Practice). Wayne is a Stanford Sloan Fellow and holds an M.Sc. in Management from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. His wife and son hold dual Ghanaian/Canadian citizenship.
