Wayne Gibbons

I've been lecturing on Built Environment Programmes in Higher Education since summer 2007. The modules that I currently teach include Computer Aided Design, Land Surveying and Digital Terrain Modelling, Environmental Management and Advanced Civil Engineering Software.

In 2015 I completed a Masters in Education Degree, specialising in Technology Enhanced Learning.

In 2012 I completed two Postgraduate Certificates in Learning and Teaching.

In 2011 I completed a Master of Science Degree in Energy and Sustainable Building Design.

I am currently enrolled on a Doctorate of Education degree with The Open University. My research topic focuses on the implementation of a digital open badges scheme and its effect on learner motivation.

I value digital open badges as a means of credentialing achievements and behaviours that may otherwise go unrecognised in the traditional format of a simplistic percentage final grade.
