I consider myself to be a complete techy geek and proud of it. After completing high school I ignored Pharmacy and Engineering to take up a position with the Commonwealth Bank, leaders at the time in commercial computing with a vision of securing a position in their Computing Department. After 12 months I was informed that I would have to spend the next 5 years as a bank clerk (a job I had come to despise passionately) so I ditched that plan and spent a little time working in construction. I had had a desire to join the Defence Department since my early teens and eventually found my way into an electronics career in Defence. I ultimately ended up in the Electronic Warfare field in 1985 and have remained there ever since both in and out of uniform. I spent several years working for one of the world leaders in RF Stimulation out of their New York office servicing Europe, South East Asia and Australia. I met my wonderful partner in 1999 and moved back to Australia working as an RF Stimulation subject matter expert and consultant on multiple Defence contracts. I am currently working as a Quality Manager for Ultra Electronics Avalon Systems, a small Electronic Warfare company, in Adelaide SA.
