Wayne Sprauve

Wayne Sprauve is a longtime U.S. Virgin Islands entrepreneurial leader who founded African Premier Airlines (APA) in 2006. As CEO and chairman, he has developed an innovative business model that focuses on air transport across African capital cities and emphasizes safety and top tier customer service. Wayne Sprauve established APA with the idea of reviving the 1988 Yamoussoukro Declaration and developing an open skies paradigm. Through the airline, he plans to attract a client base in the expanding business and middle class demographics. He is engaged in planning an international network of flights that will extend to Europe, Asia and the United States.

With a bachelor’s degree in political science and English earned at Boston University, Mr. Sprauve began his career in the early 1980s as information analyst with Raytheon/ Dynatrend. He subsequently completed a JD at the Boston University School of Law and in 1989 accepted a position as Assistant Counsel to the Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands. In this capacity, he reviewed the full range of contracts and legislation sent to the governor for execution. Wayne Sprauve has also led a St. Thomas legal office and, subsequently, the South Africa-based Southbridge International Trade Corporation, Ltd.
