For Wayne von Borstel, finance has long been a keen interest. At 18, his grandmother allowed him to invest her money. In 1985, he began his career assisting wealthy individuals and families with financial analysis and advice.
For nearly 40 years, he has helped high-net-worth individuals position assets. His work helps clients improve their quality of life and provide more assets in estates for people and organizations.
Wayne von Borstel Education and Qualifications
Wayne von Borstel earned a master’s degree in financial services from The Graduate School of Financial Services at The American College. During the course of his career, he has earned several designations. von Borstel is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Certified Financial Planner (CFP).
He was a representative for Mony Mutual Of New York for 10 years and LPL Financial for 19 years. Prior to establishing von Borstel and Associates, he was the creator and president of the Northwest Planned Giving Initiative.
von Borstel is a participant in key organizations within his profession. He is a member of the International Association for Financial Planning, the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, and the Portland Estate Planning Council. In addition, he teaches a variety of financial planning topics at his firm’s monthly coaching calls.
Couple Committed to Serving Others
Wayne von Borstel and his wife, Marta, are committed, volunteers. They share a deep belief in supporting underprivileged children to achieve educational opportunities at the local and global levels.
The von Borstels has funded the development of multiple Christian schools in Bangladesh, Sudan, Afghanistan, Nepal, Honduras, and Canada. They are also financial supporters of an orphanage in Medan, Indonesia, which is home to hundreds of children, many of whom have lost families due to the devastating tsunami of 2004.
