Aloha. I reside in Iao Valley on the beautiful island of Maui. I've been fortunate to have experienced various careers and am currently a Project Director for a Department of Labor, Rural Hawaii Grant project developing Small Business Solutions curricula as part of a larger workforce development initiative. Essentially, my current position is an exciting opportunity that allows me, a "recovering" technologist, to mix my business experience with instructional design, all in the name of reducing unemployment and under employment in Maui County.

My motivation for participating in this class is to both experience/participate in an actual online class, as well as absorb the subject matter of social media for educators. I feel that any curricula developed today needs to be technology-enabled to increase access and overcome the time management and work-life-career balance burden for working students.
