In his back shed, one day, Kevin Wells whipped up a macrocarpa two seater chair.

So impressed with his little creation, the orders started flowing from friends and family. Realising just what he had happened onto Kev brought the local Awahuri Church, redesigning and converting it into a workshop, and home by himself.

Soon realising that Weekend Craft had outgrown its beginnings, Kev moved the showroom to SH1&3 the Main Street in Sanson, where it still is today.
