“My name is Kimberly Weihl. I am a professional photographer, specializing in Fine Art and editorial images. My work is often a reflection on society and the changes we have been through. Humanity is always at a point of two interceptions on a grid, where culture and time intercept, creating social struggles and change. I like to engage the viewer and help them understand this concept. Everything that we are is based on this concept or point of convergence. I want them to realize how the choices that we are making reflect this in every way.

Some things that I feel characterize my work are nostalgia, lonely, documentary, colorful, slightly ethereal, and artistic. I shoot at low angles, using a lot of greens, reds and gold, often with a slight color shift in order to bring my viewer into the image, by making it a little more surreal. My images usually tell a story individually or when working with other photographs; usually linking the past with the present. I try to shoot for a 1970’s vibe, which is the point (in my opinion) where everything currently began to go wrong.

Photography is just my way of questioning human nature, documenting the choices we have made, and help us understand where we are going.”
