Weitz & Luxenberg

Weitz & Luxenberg and its top-flight litigators have been recognized with dozens of awards and recognitions that reflect an elite level of legal work. W&L lawyers are regularly recognized with "Best Lawyers" and "Super Lawyers" distinctions, honors that are handed out by legal publications. The company's lawyers also serve on the leadership committees of some of the largest multi-district litigations in the nation and the committees of multiple asbestos bankruptcy trusts.

One of W&L’s first major legal successes involved winning a multimillion verdict on behalf of 36 men who worked for the Brooklyn Navy Yard. It had been an important shipbuilding facility since before World War II, but was filled with dangerous asbestos-laden products. Hundreds of workers were exposed, and years later many came to W&L for representation. In a landmark trial, W&L won a $75 million verdict for the men of the Brooklyn Navy Yard, sending a historic message to the asbestos industry and ensuring that their clients could move forward free of financial worries.
