Wendy Nelson
Wendy is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Colorado and Wisconsin with over 18 years of CFO, accounting, and M&A experience. She has supported a broad range of industries, including financial services, internet, web hosting, e-commerce, consumer services, retail, and manufacturing companies. She has worked in companies ranging from start up ventures to well established businesses (public & privately held) including Western Union, and Verio (an NTT Communications Company) as well as “Big 4” accounting firm, Ernst & Young, LLP. Wendy has built companies from the ground up, participated in successful turnarounds, and provided financial support to companies experiencing double digit growth.
She has completed financial due diligence both as the acquiring management team and as the acquired, and has led the financial integration process for acquired entities. Wendy has also completed international due diligence projects, including
ongoing finance support for acquired entities throughout Western Europe. She has experience negotiating contract terms, securing banking relationships, creating business plans, and acquiring capital. In her most recent engagement, she prepared and presented the financial statements and supporting data to multiple private equity investors, assisting the CEO in acquiring nearly $20M in capital.
This diverse background, coupled with a collaborative leadership style allows Wendy to determine client needs and implement immediate solutions that resolve client concerns. She has an extensive background in strategic planning, pro forma
financial statement preparation, profitability analysis, annual planning (including cash planning) and preparation of meaningful management/Board of Director reporting.
Wendy has managed Accounting, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Internal Audit and Human Resources employees. She has completed new employee hiring and orientation, training, coaching and mentoring throughout her career. Her wide scope of responsibility has enabled her to focus on operations in addition to financial requirements.
