Wes Knight
Amateur & College
Knight attended Wren High School, and played club soccer for the Greenville Futbol club where Wes became the all time leader in assists, 2 time All-State selection, 2 time All Conference selection, 2004 Conference Player of the Year as well as 2004 Anderson Independent Male Soccer Player of the Year.
In 2004 Wes committed to play collegiate soccer at the College of Charleston. In 4 years, Wes was named to the 2nd Team All-Southern Conference & the NSCAA All-South Region second team in '07. In '08 Wes was selected to the First Team All-Southern Conference and NSCAA All-South Region Second Team. He was just the second player from the College of Charleston to be invited to the MLS combine following the 2008 season.
Professional
On February 11, 2009 the Whitecaps announced the signing of Knight for the 2009 season. Following the end of an extremely successful 2009 season he was a finalist for Rookie of the Year award and ended the season as the league leader in assists with 9.
Knight remained with Vancouver Whitecaps FC when the club joined Major League Soccer in 2011 and had the game sealing assist of the 4th goal in the MLS debut against Toronto FC. Knight featured in 12 matches in the 2011 season.
In 2012, Knight signed with the NASL expansion side San Antonio Scorpions. Knight helped lead them to win the 2012 Regular Season Championship as a staple at right back.
On January 8 of 2013, Knight signed with FC Edmonton.
