I'm the MD of Blue Web, a web design and development company I set up in 2009 after working in the web, IT and telecomms industries for around 15 years. Having worked in big business, I decided that I would like to help small and medium businesses with their technology needs.

Things that only big businesses could achieve a few years ago are now available to all businesses but no longer at the astronomical costs once charged.

The advances in online and cloud technology means that dynamic websites, ecommerce, intranets, CRM, payroll, online booking, point of sale, and many other applications are available. But why would a small or medium business want all this new technology, I hear you ask?

In two words, 'competitive edge', think of your business as if you are at war. Ever since the bow and arrow was invented and pitted against the club, and later the bow and arrow against the rifle. You can see that the more technically advanced you were in war, the more you were likely to win.

The same applies today in business, fortunately though no one is being killed! However, the winners are those businesses that have the technical advantage, those that have automated areas that can be automated, used the easiest, fastest systems and gained the maximum value from their business information.
