Hello. I am a student of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am aspiring to be a guidance counselor, a teacher, or a therapist.

Personal Mission Statement
My previous guidance counselor inspired me to pursue this profession. She was every student’s three influential figures: the student’s helper, mentor, and advocator. If it were not for her, I would not have been able to be motivated to pursue areas that I have little experience in such as math and science.
Like her, I seek to challenge students as well to explore fields where they have little experience in. As a guidance counselor, I also seek to engage students into becoming responsible and involved adults who are willing to shape the future for their next generation as well. I look forward to creating an inclusive and welcoming community and atmosphere for all students where every student is accepted and respected regardless of sex, religion, gender, disability, mental status, sexuality, personal background, socioeconomic status, race, or even the color of one’s skin. In a time where division is so strong in this country, it is important for me to resolve issues pertaining to race, religion, sexuality, gender, and people with disabilities because these are marginalized groups. Young high school students are vulnerable to marginalization and victimization if guidance counselors do not emphasize a strong and welcoming community. That is why I seek to accomplish that the most. I also seek to be both a student’s resource as well as a student’s access to multiple resources.
