Mark Westmoquette

I am a yoga and mindfulness teacher living and working in south London

All my teaching is infused with the philosophy and teachings of Zen (which is itself a descendent of yoga) since I've been practising in the Zenways tradition under the guidance of Zen Master Daizan Skinner since 2007.

My yoga classes are also inspired by the years I've spent working yoga teacher Jonathan Monks. I emphasise flexing and releasing the spine, developing our relationship with the ground, and finding stillness within the movement.

I teach 8-week courses in mindfulness, and run regular retreats on various aspects of mindfulness, including mindful eating.

In my previous life I worked doing research in Astronomy, at University College London (UCL) and the European Southern Observatory (ESO) in Munich. My interests were in the observational aspects of feedback from young stars, starbursts and galactic-scale outflows and winds.
