rachael weyhe

hey guys. my name is rachael weyhe, or you can call me rae if you want. it's up to you really. i enjoy writing creatively as well as blogging. i'm newer to blogging though, and if it weren't for one of my classes at Pace University i wouldn't have explored any blog platform other than tumblr.

my blog, "I Bet If This Was a Billboard You'd Read It" (weyhesway.wordpress.com) is about how Americans are constantly being encouraged to consume from the massive amounts of advertisements in the media. it's even hit youtube and southparkstudios.com, which used to be completely ad-free sites.

my blog is not only about Americans advertised to constantly; whether it be TV, the radio, the internet, pandora, or really any site on the internet, but a lot of it is trickery. Americans are then led on fallacious beliefs that that movie is #1 in America, that that car is the best on the market and even reaching as far back as the mis-advertisement of products such as cigarettes and heroin being medicine.

i believe the media is working hard on making us believe that our material possessions make us happy and who we are, rather than our lives and our personalities on the inside; or that we need that medicine to make us healthy. it's how they make their money, and it's not going to go unmentioned by me.
