Image co-founder WHILCE PORTACIO is launching at the 2012 New York Comicon his latest project with Frequency and Jersey Gods writer Glen Brunswick titled "NON-HUMANS".

Portacio joins Brunswick to bring readers a comic book series that is described as "Blade Runner meets Toy Story" where the inciting incident happens in 2015 — A NASA probe brings back a strange disease that infects the entire globe causing a huge number of familiar toy and toy-like objects to come to life. Portacio started as an inker before launching his career as a penciller over 25 years ago. He has been a leading comic book talent ever since his big break through on Marvel titles X-Factor and Uncanny X-Men in the early '90s. Whilce has worked on titles Iron Man: Heroes Reborn, Punisher, Wetworks, Stormwatch, Batman Confidential, Heroic Age, Journey Into Mystery, Spawn, Artifacts and recently on Incredible Hulk.

Portacio is now back to teaching, holding workshops, and supervising the launch of his new studio Wicked Precision.
