Hi Everyone!

I am originally from North Carolina and have spent the past five years living and working in Washington, D.C. I am interested in working in business strategy for a renewable energy company. I developed this interest through my work in environmental programming. With my former company, I frequently traveled to Papua New Guinea to help run operations on a climate change adaptation project. The project builds things like rainwater catchment tanks, erosion control systems, and evacuation centers to help coastal communities better withstand the impacts of climate change - sea level rise and extreme weather events.

Having worked with people from communities that will likely be underwater by the end of the century, I would like to focus on addressing the cause of climate change - carbon emissions - by working in renewable energy. At McCombs I plan to pursue concentrations in CleanTech and Management Consulting.

Outside of work, my hobbies are travel, music, and athletics. My have traveled to 26 countries, including India, Philippines, and Haiti. I took the background photo on this page at the Alley of the Baobabs in Madagascar, during my semester abroad in 2007.

I am an avid music fan and frequently go to live shows. At Davidson College, I sang and played guitar in a rock band. In 2008, we won the college battle of the bands competition. During a vacation in India, I took a lesson on the sitar, channeling my inner George Harrison. My current project - the banjo!

Spending time outdoors and staying active are very important to me. I have competed in two triathlons and a marathon. If anyone is up for a hike, let's go!

I look forward to meeting you all and learning about your background, career goals, and hobbies!
