Here's a secret: staying home with a baby all day can be boring. That's why Whitney Moss launched RookieMoms.com, and wrote The Rookie Mom's Handbook: 250 activities to do with (and without!) your baby.

In 2004, when she became a mom, she lead direct-to-consumer marketing for LeapFrog Toys and spent the rest of her day caring for her first baby. But she noticed that baby never suggested anything interesting to do. He never said, "Mom, let's go buy you some new jeans and a latte." She joined forces with fellow new mom Heather Flett and they started Rookie Moms, a brand devoted to aggregating ideas for fun things to do – with babies in tow. The duo launched 510Families.com, a hyperlocal guide for Bay Area parents in 2010.

In addition their own web properties, The Rookie Moms have written for BabyCenter.com, Evenflo, Giggle, Hallmark, and other consumer brands. Whitney has acted as a spokesperson for DUPLO, Huggies, and Healthy Child Healthy World, and consulted for Bay Area companies Method, Yes To, and Citrus Lane. She serves on the board of Help A Mother Out, a non-profit that increases access to diapers for moms in need.

Whitney and Heather's second book Stuff Every Mom Should Know came out in March 2012.
