Wai Hou Lio

Wai Hou (Alan) Lio joined the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering in 2013 as a recipient of Faculty Scholarship award. His research focuses on predictive control and its applications for wind turbine load reductions under the supervision of Dr. Anthony Rossiter and Dr. Bryn Jones.

Prior to joining the department, he completed his first degree (MEng) with first-class honours in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Imperial College London (2008-2012). During his final year at Imperial, he worked closely with Vestas Wind Systems, designing control algorithms to alleviate tower loads for offshore floating wind turbines.
