Wholly Jeanne Hewell-Chambers

Just your everyday ordinary red dirt girl, I'm fluent only in English and Southern. I like softly frayed edges, heart-shaped rocks, and galoshes. Stories are my oxygen, laughter's my religion, and like so many women before me, slow cloth is in my blood.

At the risk of sounding like I can't hold down a job, I've been a teacher, a student, a bookkeeper, an end-of-life doula, a personal historian, and a professional speaker/storyteller. I've taught writing workshops, smocking workshops, and bookmaking workshops. I'm an actress and the Managing Director of The Twilight Theatre. I've written two books (Life Is Too Short To Be Ordinary and Just the Write Gift) and am currently exhaling the other books and plays and musicals that I've been carrying around inside for the longest time.

Though I have no intention of ever doing it again, I am still married to the man I once hung wallpaper with, and though I'm the recipient of several awards for this and that, I'm most proud of the fact that I've never, ever had to attend at PTA meeting under an assumed name.
