Security matters, it is the difference between lives lived in fear and oppression and lives lived in freedom and liberty. It is second on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs just above the likes of food, water and sleep.
Security doesn’t start at the federal, state, or local level, it starts with you!
Ultimately you are responsible for the security of your community, family and yourself. While physical security plays a part in this, it is mostly about a security attitude. Taking ownership of security needs around you and not delegating it to a faceless organization.
Americans have given up the responsibility and authority for their security to government and non-government entities through apathy and lack of awareness. They need to step up and realize that they are best suited to determine what security they need for themselves, their family and their community.
Jorge Perez hopes to raise the awareness through his blog Why Security Matters and what you can do to change the status quo.
