Jamar Hampton

BERKELEYCA

Born an bred in Berkeley, Ca., this golden state native was born to make music. With early inspirations like Lionel Richie, Michael Jackson, The Temptations & funk groups like Jefferson Airplane, George Clinton, and Sly & the family Stone. Rich musical influences like this that are traditionally listened to inter-generationally, songs that touch an entire family of experiences, have pervaded his sound. Family was a big influence, & its value immediately apparent after the loss of his father. Pain may have hardened his music, but thanks to hip-hop that edge may be an advantage. And with close cousins already deep in the industry, bay area standards Mac Dre & Da Gov, it seems like his path was already his to walk. Now there is only making steps toward the goal of freedom through music.
