Jackie Wilde

I am a storyteller and a writer. This is what I tell myself. This is what I tell the world. I went to film school to pursue a career in telling stories, yet one I can never seem to write well is the one nearly eeevery new person and social media site asks for - mine, the "about me." But here goes...

I am Jackie. I've always had a love for movies, tv series and videos. I don't know how to say it differently, so simply put: I love stories. I really do. I love characters. I love creating them and soaking them in. I love stories' unique worlds and character dynamics. I love seeing emotion and thought. I love being able to call attention to small moments in a film, making them huge and meaningful, when in real life they might be overlooked. And I love being the one able to bring a concept, character and story to life. I love being on film sets, writing, directing and editing. I've decided this is what I'm going to do with my life.

I grew up watching and admiring films. In the back of my mind I'd always thought working in the film industry would be amazing, but I saw myself as just a kid from the prairies (Winnipeg, MB of all places). When the end of high school was approaching, the chance to apply to an art school came up and I jumped at it. A few months later I found myself taking film classes and living on the west coast. Since then, I've graduated from film school and am now beginning to work and explore in the industry. I'm excited to see what will happen and what I can do.
