I would like to congratulate Jane Hampton and my hope is she will become a champion of change in our school system. It would be refreshing to see true collaboration of all interested parties when evaluating decisions and strategies that affect our schools, rather than administrators or politicians acting alone to make these decisions.

It’s time for the conversation to change, to morph into a multi-directional dialogue in which the voices of administration, parents, teachers, individuals, and students are ALL heard, and one in which those exchanges are respected for the value they bring to table.

The school system must be one in which leaders create connections with stakeholders that together build a framework to shape the future of learning in a way that recognizes the worth and value of every student, promotes the inherent abilities of individual students, and helps them to ultimately become self-directed learners.

I care about your children and their academic needs. Thank you to all who voted and supported me in this election. It was truly an honor and I appreciate your confidence in me.
