My name is Donie Wiley and I work in the financial services industry in Ireland mostly dealing with customer experience - such as it is in the present environment. I consider myself an HR professional though I haven't worked in a formal or dedicated human resources role since 2005. I also spent a significant amount of time teaching (HR) on a part-time basis since the mid '90's until I lost my job last year. I also own an entity (not sure how else to describe it) called IPoP which stands for In Pursuit of Potential. It works with individuals and groups on ensuring they maximise their talent and skills largely on a pro bono basis. It kind of advises, mentors, coaches and coaxes based on what is needed and best helps the person or group.

This blog which is entirely a personal view and perspective on the world reflects on many of the debates I have raging in my own mind about how the world of work and society in general is changing. I am interested in starting a debates/discussions what really is happening and how we ensure we are making fully informed decisions on really important events in our lives. I think we need to get away from what I see as a sugar coated version that is being fed to us from various sources. I do not have a monopoly of wisdom on any topic I raise but I do think putting out the call for debate on an issue is a healthy and good thing to do, based on making the world a better place for all of us and indeed those who will follow us
