Growing up in small-town Carrollton, Ga, I was never too particular about what I wore, except for my shoes. Even at a young age, I wanted my shoes to be different than what anyone else was wearing. It was sometimes hard to find pairs that were, in my mind, cooler than the bestsellers, as I was limited to whatever my local Hibbett Sports had in stock, but the world of online shopping completely changed the game. I was able to find much more exclusive shoes on the internet than what was available in my hometown, and it also allowed me to combine two of my passions.
On top of loving cool, exclusive kicks, I am also a very business minded person. With the internet giving me access to purchase rare, sought-after shoes, I decided to open an eBay account to sell some of the shoes I was buying. Realizing the money to be made, I also began to buy shoes specifically to sell, and other times as a backup plan if a pair didn’t fit as expected or just didn’t look as good in person. This buying and selling has continued turning into almost a part-time job, and I have even branched out into selling clothing as well. Now enrolled at UGA, I haven’t been buying and selling as much as I previously have, but I still make sure to stay laced in exclusive kicks wherever I go.
