Seattle, Washington

I am a recent graduate from the University of Kansas in English with strong concentrations in American Studies, Cultural Studies, and Spanish. I am headed to Seattle, Washington to work as a labor organizer with Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 925 in their Higher Education Department. While I’ve spent the last four years in many places – interning in DC, backpacking through Costa Rica, and finding my home base in Kansas – I am excited to call Seattle my new home.

My experiences have led me on a path into the realm of community organizing and grassroots mobilizing, specifically in K12 and higher education policy. I aspire to work and organize within communities and their schools in order to form valuable, positive collaborations. I want to be an agent of change and help close the opportunity gap that inhibits so many from succeeding. I am passionate. I am resilient. And I utilize these traits to the best of my abilities in the classroom and the work place.
