After spending years in such industries as advertising, editing, and teaching, I cut west to USC, where I studied fiction and screenwriting (and wrote a time travel novel called The Prodigal Hour).

At USC, I learned enough about the literary marketplace to know that there was room for improvement, so I set about changing it. I earned an MBA in strategic marketing at Regis University; when publishing is a button, finding more readers and connecting them with writers they'll love is paramount.

Now I live in Pittsburgh and work at PNC, where I'm a senior marketing specialist. I'm also creative director and director of marketing at Exciting Press, the independent digital publishing company I founded with my wife. We work with authors to bring their new and backlist work to Amazon's Kindle and Apple's iBookstore platforms.

And we couldn't be happier.
