Will Hale

I have been taking pictures and shooting video for the last 4 years and have worked professionally in both. I am a junior at Virginia Commonwealth University studying creative advertising. At VCU I work for an online music publication called The Horn RVA which promotes local musicians in Richmond through shooting live shows along with interviews and features. In 2013, my first year working with The Horn RVA, we won the Best Online Student Publication in the Mid-Atlantic from the Society of Professional Journalist. In Roanoke my friend and I started Redyellow Productions. Redyellow is a video channel on YouTube where we mostly do narrative work but we have also done promotional work. In 2012 we shot a promotional video showcasing the new South County in Cave Spring. The video got first prize Lyrasis Video Competition that showed how their library was thriving. This year I was in the VCU New Media Project that was an interdisciplinary collaborative class where we wrote, shoot, acted, and edited a webseries.
