William Burns

Drawing on more than 25 years of experience across multiple management roles, William Burns serves as chief financial officer and executive vice president of Cross Country Healthcare. In this role, his duties include oversight for accounting, planning and analysis, treasury, investor relations and internal auditing. He has played a key role in developing an implementing the company's strategy to become a leading total talent solutions provider.
The South Florida Business Journal honored Mr. Burns for his work at Cross Country Healthcare, presenting him with its CFO award for Turn-around Achievement of the Year in 2016. He is a member of the Florida Institute of CFOs (FiCFO), and frequently delivers presentations at the organization’s events.
Outside of his career, William Burns enjoys golf and martial arts, as well as tennis. He also is actively involved in charitable causes, such as the Light the Night walk for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, where he has served as walk chair for both 2019 and 2020. He earned an M.B.A in finance and operations management from New York University in 2000.
