William Adam Boyd’s entrepreneurial journey began in 1997 when he established EMS, a Virginia based printed circuit board (PCB) company. EMS manufactured and programmed PCBs that directly interfaced with video game consoles. In 1998, William Adam Boyd entered the payroll services sector as the founder of VeriPay Services.

Under Boyd’s direction, VeriPay Services became a disruptive force in the payroll industry by offering online tools that automatically calculated, filed, and submitted payment for relevant federal, state, and local taxes. While heading operations at VeriPay Services, Boyd attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where he earned his bachelor of science in finance in 2005.

In 2009, Boyd became managing director of the payment processing company toCharge. Over the next four years, Boyd led the company to approximately $100 million in annual assets under management. In 2018, VeriPay acquired toCharge, and Boyd was selected to lead VeriPay as its chief executive officer.
