William Bard

William Bard is a French horn player from Florida, currently finishing his Master of Music degree at Mannes School of Music, where he studies with New York Philharmonic Principal Horn Philip Myers. In 2015, Bard received a Bachelor of Music and Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, studying horn with W. Peter Kurau. While at the Eastman School, he played as a member of the world-renowned Eastman Wind Ensemble, and can be heard on the Ensemble’s newly-released recording “SIERRA LIVE”. During his time in NYC, Bard has participated in the NY premiere (Lincoln Center) of Ricky Ian Gordon’s chamber opera “A Coffin in Egypt”, as well as the NY premiere of Kaija Saariaho’s chamber version of her opera “La Passion de Simone”. He was also featured as the horn soloist in the Mannes American Composers Ensemble’s performance of Matthias Pintscher’s “Occultation”, with the composer present.
