William B Considine
William B. Considine is currently a resident of Philadelphia and a student at the University of Pennsylvania, where he expects to graduate in May 2012. In addition to pursuing his Bachelor of Arts in Economics with a Minor in American Public Policy, Considine actively participates in the Kappa Sigma Fraternity on campus. Among other responsibilities, he aided in the disbursement of a $165,000 budget as a member of the Kappa Sigma Executive Committee. Considine has also demonstrated his capacity for leadership in that organization by facilitating charitable activities on campus and serving as Secretary and Grand Scribe. William B. Considine became interested in community service while a high school student in New York. He participated in The Albany Academies’ efforts to involve students in service activities. When the schools garnered recognition from the Northeast Parent and Child Association for their involvement, Considine, a senior at the time, was chosen to deliver the acceptance speech on the schools' behalf. He also served as Student Council Treasurer and Director of the House Leadership Program before graduating from The Albany Academy cum laude in 2008.
Since enrolling at the University of Pennsylvania, William B. Considine has supplemented his coursework in economics and public policy with courses in finance. He also held a series of internships in New York. Notably, he worked for the Office of the Mayor of the City of New York as an intern in the Office of State Legislative Affairs, where he witnessed firsthand the role that lobbyists play in the lawmaking process. As an intern, Considine experienced a failed coup staged by Democratic senators who sought to achieve a Republican majority by changing their party affiliations. Considine spent summers at a hedge fund specializing in global healthcare where he gained experience in researching market data and preparing financial models.
