William "Chip" Corley
Professional Money Manager, Public Speaker, and Author in Lake Worth, Florida
Hello friends, I am William Corley.
I recently authored the print and audible book Financial Fitness: The Journey from Wall Street to Badwater 135. The story details my business dealings and athletic endeavors (available on Amazon).
I share how I achieve financial proficiency in my late 30s through successful investing and entrepreneurship. Additionally, I detail my physical transformation to become an ultramarathoner and endurance athlete.
Vocationally, I am a professional money manager for private clients with 1DB Asset Management and the founder of 1st Discount Brokerage (1DB.com), a full-service discount investment firm. I am a member of New World Angels – (our mission is to fund entrepreneurial start-ups). I graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University and earned my MBA at Louisana Baptist University. I am licensed in securities, insurance, and real estate.
My job consists of research, investment allocation, strategy, and management. I focus on macroeconomics, market history, and relevant investment selection as a researcher. I try to make sense of what's going on in the world to make wise investment decisions for clients' portfolios. I have been a contributing columnist for Equities.com.
Avocationally, I have been participating in endurance sports for over a decade, and I am a seasoned ultra-marathoner and Ironman triathlete. In 2016, I competed in the Badwater 135 ultramarathon, considered the world's toughest road race. Badwater is a 135 mile run through Death Valley, California, where temperatures exceed 125 degrees.
Anyway, the race was nuts, and I made it, thankfully.
I enjoy public speaking, encouraging others to strive to be their best, and sharing the path I've taken to achieve modest success.
