William Deakins

As a Partner at Candlestick Trading Partners, an investment training firm in Dobbs Ferry, New York, William Deakins instructs novice traders on how to use the time-honored practice of candlestick charting to successfully invest in various financial instruments, such as stocks, currencies, derivatives, and securities. This approach to trading uses formulas to make calculated investments depending on an array of factors, such as the security’s volume, time, and daily and intraday charts, as well as general news from the market and the specific sector. Williams Deakins started with Candlestick Trading Partners in 2005 after spending eight years as the Senior Vice President of Trading with Centennial Ventures, Ltd, a New York City-based finance company that functioned similarly to a hedge fund. Holding similar responsibilities as in his current position, William Deakins trained new traders at the company, showing them how to identify both long and short investments while specializing in small- to mid-cap names. Through a personalized approach to investment education, two out of every five trainees William Deakins instructed went on to become top traders. Additionally, William Deakins oversaw the day-to-day operations at Centennial Ventures, including in-depth research into investment and trading opportunities, as well as risk control.
