William Lerner is a 40-year veteran of the parking industry and has served as President and CEO of Imperial Parking Systems since 1996. The former company LPS established in 1960 by Mr. Lerner’s father has been managed by Mr. Lerner since 1978. He has overseen the company’s growth from a small family business to one of the New York metropolitan area’s largest owner-operators of garages and parking facilities.
Mr. Lerner started in the parking industry as a teenager, assisting his father in all aspects of the business including parking vehicles, customer service and garage maintenance. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Colorado, Mr. Lerner took an official position as President of Imperial Parking and introduced more efficient management, accounting and administrative practices as the company expanded. He takes a professional, comprehensive and passionate approach to operations and services and his management philosophy and dedication to employees enable Imperial Parking to provide the highest level of service in the industry. Today, Imperial Parking sets the standard for the industry, with six decades of experience and the capabilities necessary to guide projects from planning to completion. Mr. Lerner’s philosophy has enabled his company to provide top notch parking services to many landlords and exclusive residential buildings in New York. In addition, the company was awarded contracts by NYU Langone Medical Center to provide services to their hospital staff and visitors.
Mr. Lerner is active in industry and philanthropic pursuits and serves as a Director for the Associated Builders and Owners of Greater New York. He is a member of the Advisory Board of Valley National Bank, a member of the Leadership Committee of Beth Israel Medical Center for Neurology and Neurosurgery and supports charitable causes focused on children, medical research and the Jewish community.
Mr. Lerner is an avid sports enthusiast and very health conscious - enjoying cycling, surfing, skiing, boating and kite surfing, among other pursuits.
