William Lown Tarrant County

Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation Intern in Fort Worth, Tarrant County, TX, USA

My name is William Lown, and I am a student based in Tarrant County, Texas, with a strong interest in history, finance, and public service. I grew up in New York City and later attended Westminster School in Connecticut, where I developed discipline through academics and sport. I played basketball and lacrosse, and receiving the Squibb Bowl Sports Award was a defining moment for me. Boarding school taught me structure, focus, and resilience—skills I now rely on every day.

After Westminster, I completed the London School of Economics Summer School programme, which expanded my perspective on global markets and decision-making. I then began my studies at Texas Christian University, where I’ve been named to the Dean’s List and recognised as a TCU Scholar.

My career interests have grown through internships with a victims-of-communism organisation, the U.S. Senate, and an investment banking firm. These roles helped me understand how policy, history, and financial systems connect. They also confirmed that I want to work at the intersection of public service and finance.

Outside my studies, I enjoy basketball, tennis, squash, sporting clay shooting, and backgammon. These activities help me stay sharp, think strategically, and maintain balance as I work toward my future goals.
