Will McGuire

I consider myself to be highly ambitious with a strong entrepreneurial spirit. I love creating and being involved in new business ventures and my overriding mission is to one day found and run a successful company.

I will soon complete my Business degree from the University of Limerick where I majored in Marketing and minored in Management. This degree covered a wide array of business disciplines such as accounting, risk management, human resource management, economics and marketing.

Throughout my education at the University Limerick I was given the opportunity to work on a variety of projects for real-world clients. These ranged from multinational companies such as Heineken to smaller local businesses such as Limerick Football Club. After thoroughly enjoying working on these group projects and producing results that exceeded the client's expectations - we branched outside our University and started providing marketing services and consultancy to local businesses.

I also currently run a personal freelance writing business. This involves researching and writing content that caters for the target market of the Webmasters among my clientele. Due to time commitments, I can only take on certain number of projects at any one time. Going forward, I've been fortunate enough to be awarded funding to complete an "Apprentice Entrepreneur" Internship with Corkscrew Enterprise in Exeter under the Leonardo da Vinci Lifelong Learning programme. This will involve joining other prospective entrepreneurs from across Europe, in an enterprise hub environment, assisting client organisations with marketing, management, financial and technological challenges.

In August, I will start an internship with Bangkok based firm "Alpha Founders" as a visiting associate business developer. This will involve working with an international venture development team and developing Internet companies from scratch. The role will involve developing online marketing channels, improving operational efficiency, participating in negotiations, conducting follow-ups and contributing workers to corporate development.
