William Panzer

William Panzer is an Oakland-based attorney who specializes in criminal defense and cannabis defense law. Not only is William Panzer a key Oakland attorney who co-authored Proposition 215. A key player in reforming California’s marijuana laws, William Panzer combines his career as a criminal defense attorney with his love for music.

As a practicing drug defense attorney for cannabis issues, William Panzer has represented and won cases for a range of physicians and medical marijuana dispensaries. He has been a dedicated member of NORML’s legal committee for over twenty years. NORML presented William the prestigious Al Horn award in 2001. William also earned Sonoma Alliance for Medical Marijuana’s “Compassion In Action” Award twice. Also, if you have ever read High Times Magazine, he has been named the“Freedom Fighter of the Month.”

William, also known as Bill Panzer, is an avid music lover, guitarist and performer. He plays guitar, sings, and writes music for a number of local Oakland bands. Currently, he performs with the band "Stonetrout" at various cannabis events and festivals.

Along with his band “Stonetrout,” William Panzer has performed at multiple NORML events and at the “Cannabis Freedom Day” in San Francisco. San Francisco’s “Cannabis Freedom Day” is a rally held just outside the doors of city hall and features many bands including Stonetrout. “Cannabis Freedom Day” is an important event for those advocating the legalization of marijuana laws and is a free festival open to the public.
