Mt. Morris, Michigan 48458

Born in Owosso, Michigan (a mid-sized town in mid-Michigan), I spent nine years in a Catholic parochial school before graduating from Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Michigan (a small town on Lake Michigan in the northwestern part of the state. I spent six years at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan completing a bachelors degree in liberal arts and a masters degree in English. I moved to Ann Arbor Michigan where I lived for thirty years, picking up a secondary teaching certificate and teaching the emotionally impaired and learning disability endorsements in special education, as well as another Masters degree in special education. I spent close to twenty years as a special education instructor, working in every grade level from kindergarten to high school. I also taught composition classes part time at Monroe County Community College and Mott Community College, later taking a full time teaching position at Mott Community College where I have been a full time faculty member for the last eleven years in the English Department.
