Lillie Williams

Growing up in South Georgia has shaped me into the person I am today, but it is the experiences away from home that defines me. My childhood was spent in close-knit rural community, with the majority of it being family members. The homestead was one of a kind, with hay fields, pastures, and forests; every child's dream of a play ground. We did not have reliable internet, cell-phone service, or cable. It was our get away. Some people think that I am sheltered because I was raised like that, but I have to say I would not have had it any other way. Children today are so obsessed with electronics they miss out on living, as I child I loved the out side and would spend all day just using my imagination.

The older I got the more I applied the things that I have learned form my 'simple' life in the country. I was always a very involved no matter what the age form sports, classes, and clubs. I will not say the list because that would be my resume, but I will say the one that I have learned the most from being in was 4-H. I started out in fifth grade and ended up my senior year in high school being on state board over 170,000 young people.

Since high school I have not slowed down much. I am pursuing a double major in Animal Science and Agriculture Communications, an unusually combination I know. These majors are a combination of the two things I love most. To this day I have been heavily involved in livestock, raising, showing, and producing. I mostly worked with beef cattle, but I have worked with hogs, dairy cattle, horses, and sheep. Also people that know me know that I am not a shy person. I will be the first to met and greet everyone I were ever I am.

This is my only second year in college. I still have time to pin point what I want to do with the rest of my life. That a really good thing because my biography is not done yet; I still have a lot of things to do yet.
