Mr William W. Lee (http://williamwlee.blogspot.com) has been well-travelled in his career and had got a Permanent Resident status in Singapore during his stay there. He committed himself into education after returning to Medan in 2008. He started by lecturing IT and Mathematics subjects in a renown English-medium college in Medan. Not long after that, he was offered to teach mathematics in the largest international school that uses Singapore curriculum in Medan. He also started teaching in Edumate International (http://www.edumate.cc), a tuition centre specializing on International curricula while still teaching in school and college. Due to high activities of teaching in three places and his own post-graduate study, Mr William chose to concentrate full time in Edumate International. In teaching his students, Mr William applies Singapore Maths methods, which put stress on problem solving. Recently, beside students who have their tuition at Edumate International, school or tuition teachers who want to teach in international school or give tuition to international school students are also given seminars, workshops, or trainings by Mr William in Edumate International. From his experience in teaching and training Mr William has specialized in Singapore curriculum especially the Singapore Maths (with the renown model drawing methods) that has brought Singapore to the first position in TIMMS and PISA rating, two independent organizations that evaluate and grade the success of mathematics and science teaching in all the countries they observed. As a lecturer, Mr William had his bachelor degree in computer science from Binus University, Jakarta and post-graduate degree in Business Admin from University of Ballarat, Australia. He actively participates in seminars locally and abroad. He joined many education related discussion groups from Singapore , Indonesia, and other countries. He also has created a few online discussion group in Facebook, one is to promote awareness of Heuristic Maths method (which Singapore Maths based on) to maths teachers, principals and parents, as in Matematika Heuristik Indonesia (http://www.facebook.com/groups/heuristik/), and the other one is meant to improve Science Education in Indonesia by introducing certain pedagogical concept and method employed by Singapore schools like HOTS (higher order thinking skill) as in Science Education Indonesia (http://www.facebook.com/groups/ScienceEducationIndonesia/).
