Willie Thomas

Hey, I’m Willie. I’m the Director of Intergration and Media Services at Robinson ISD and Google Certified Educator and loving every minute of it.

I am a Waco native who grew up watching Baylor football and basketball and had the opportunity to play football under Coach Art Briles at the University of Houston. During my athletic and academic career at U of H, I discovered a new love in cycling after I had my knee surgery. I new then from this new experience that I am someone that will never stop learning and growing and trying new things in my life. You never know what adventures lie ahead if you don't step out of the familiar and into the unknown.

I would have to say that my other passion that I have in life is technology. I am constantly looking for the next new thing and how it works. I love how Google works with all of my daily routines and home automation. I love drones, even though I don't own one yet, and would love to shoot some aerial footage for my vlog some day. I do feel that technology is apart of us and vital to the interactions that we have with mostly everything in our lives. The one thing that I must say though is that technology should be transformational and used purposefully to enhance what we do in our lives.

As I said earlier I am the Director of Intergration and Media Services and my job is to help teachers and students make technology be a transformational part of a students education. I believe that it is our jobs as educators to prepare them for the future that lies ahead and give them the tools that they will need to be competitive in life. I got into education to produce amazing leaders and creators that will help our world continue to be a place of discovery and innovation.
