Will MacNeill
Design and build. Many engineers can handle the design part, but the building is just too messy.
I have been formally prototyping and building since 2011 when I built my first 3D printer and landed a contract to design and build a prototype of a medical device. I quickly developed the ability to design and produce rapid iterations of functional prototype parts utilizing additive manufacturing for design verification before manufacturing using conventional methods. I am knowledgeable in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and have worked closely with machinists to produce parts/assemblies. I am comfortable with many fabrication processes and have experience machining and welding beyond what is required in the typical engineering curriculum.
I finished my Master's in Mechanical Engineering at Oregon State University (June 2015) with my thesis research on photonic sintering of metals and semiconducting nanoparticles as well as multi-material additive manufacturing using a novel process which I designed and prototyped.
I'm currently looking for opportunities for full time employment or contract work.
