Will Mays

Will Mays is an inventor of new businesses. He's founder of Corporate Signatures, magnetbyMail, ClipBadges and Pilot-Wing.com.

He finds a problem that needs solving, looks at what resources are available, and designs a solution that makes customers' lives easier.

For FedEx, it was a way to deliver customized award items -- overnight, of course. For marketing clients, it was a product that could double the response-rate of their direct mail. For Land Conservation clients, it was a way to bring their message in front of communities that didn't know anything about "Land Conservation."

His approach is a practical one. He often looks around and borrows ideas from other industries. He's a designer, too, so principles of good design are also incorporated. As is teamwork, just-in-time, lean manufacturing and kaizen.

Mays is a lover of the environment, and exploring it; as well as discovering how we humans think and how our systems work.

He'd also like to work on education reform and healthcare reform. He notes, "there's a lot at stake there, and much that can be improved. Stay tuned and I'll keep you posted..."
