Political Strategist in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Will Mega, is one of the most recognized community organizers, political strategists, and motivational speakers in Philadelphia. His boundless energy, gifted oratory skills, strategic organizing abilities and compassion for the disenfranchised has led him to be on the forefront of social justice, political, technology and youth-empowerment causes in the greater Philadelphia area.
Beyond Will Mega’s experience with engaging the incarcerated and formerly incarcerated community while working with organizations like Men United For a Better Philadelphia, his passion for politics has never waned. He earned his Master’s degree in Human Services from Lincoln University where his thesis research focused on reversing voter apathy among the 18 – 35 year old demographic.
His passion for involving young adults in the political realm led him to create the Hip Hop Agenda, Inc. - a non-profit organization focused on politically empowering young voters. His organization partnered with Sean “P. Diddy” Combs for the nationally recognized Citizens for Change / Vote or Die campaign where he helped to register to vote for more than 10,000 college students in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh during the 2004 Presidential election in one day. He also co-founded the National Political Hip Hop Convention held in 2004 in Newark, NJ with more than 6,000 young adult delegates’ attending nationwide.
Mega’s influence and political profile heightened, after leading victorious & successful political campaigns of Philadelphia City Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr., and PA State Representative Kenyatta Johnson. Mega began serving as the Chief-of-Staff for Representative Johnson as he used his mixture of community organizing, communication, and legislative skills to boost Rep. Johnson to one of the most impactful criminal justice Reps in the state.
Mega is a founding board member of The Men of Wynnefield, a grassroots volunteer men's organization with a mission to empower men and boys who reside in the Wynnefield section of Philadelphia.
Mega served as Dean of Students at Walter D. Palmer Charter School (K-12) where he was responsible for leading the cultural climate support staff and academic facilitators with maintaining a positive school culture and climate. Today he is the High School Dean at Sankofa Freedom Academy Charter.
He is a consummate achiever and brother of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
