Maggy Wilson-Lampron
Student in Guelph, Ontario, Canada
Born in 1997, to a french speaking family. I attended elementary and secondary french schools in Cambridge Ontario. I am currently finishing my fourth year degree in the Arts and Science Program at the University of Guelph.
Learning about science and its impact on people and society is my main interest. My program allows me to reflect on scientific innovations and it’s positive or negative impact on the world. Without people, there would not be a need for science. And my hobbies include tennis, golf, good food and social gatherings.
All scientific minds that have had an impact on humanity are inspiring. For example. Alexander Fleming who discovered penicillin to the discovery of DNA by Watson and Cricks and the Germ Theory that was discovered by Girolamo Fracastoro.
The science of medicine, genetics and microbiology are the most interesting fields of interest in the science world. These three fields brings me to understand the connections between DNA, the human body and future health care practices. I believe that these fields will play an essential role in discovering new innovations.
My chosen career path is still unclear. It will have to be meaningful work that will have an impact on society through science. There are a number of career choices ahead of me such as researcher and medicine just to name a few.
Most people know me as a straight forward quiet and logical person but I have a creative side.
