Wilson da Silva

I’m a senior media professional who’s worked as a publisher, editor, journalist and filmmaker across magazines (print and tablet), television, newswires, newspapers and online.

I co-founded Cosmos Media, the multi-award winning science and environment publisher, and was Editorial Director and Editor-in-Chief for nine years. I led the editorial development and launch of 13 publications, and helped the company win a total of 55 awards for journalism, publishing, sustainability and innovation.

I’ve also been a documentary filmmaker, policy consultant, served on government and non-profit committees and do a lot of public speaking, TV appearances, compering of events and chairing of panels.

I've collected 31 awards – including twice Editor of the Year for my work on COSMOS, and the Australian Film Institute trophy for Best Documentary – and am a former president of the World Federation of Science Journalists.
