Specialists specialize. They know so much about so little that it is very difficult for them to see the 'big picture' any longer, often within their own field. They are usually the result of a very formal and rigid educational system.

As a generalist, I see the commonalities in many things. Having worked in various industries in two very different cultures as an industrial designer, product developer and architect, I make cross-cultural and cross disciplinary, as well as cross-industry connections, few can. As one who loves to innovate, I seek out the very simple solutions which result from seeing that 'very big picture', that very few see anymore.
