Wai Xin Chan

Wai Xin Chan is a Singapore based wine communicator who founded Wine Xin in 2014.
He is a Certified Wine Educator (CWE) from Society of Wine Educators and the fourth in the world to hold the title of Italian Wine Expert from the Vinitaly International Academy (VIA) under the tutelage of Dr Ian D'Agata. He holds the Italian Wine Scholar with Highest Honors title.
Wai Xin's past works were featured in several publications, these include Spirito diVino Asia (Hong Kong), Epicure Magazine (Singapore) and The Business Times (Singapore). He had judged wines both locally and internationally as a panel chairperson and moderated panels at the Collisioni Festival Progetto Vino in Barolo. He was also involved in judging the new release of Barolo 2016 and Barbaresco 2017 in New York.
Today, he continues to publish his opinions on WineXin.SG and help various consortiums spread the words about their wine regions. He also co-founded the project, Wine Safari Italia which is dedicated to promote the awareness of Italian native grape and local wines.
Wai Xin is the Approved Program Provider for Italian Wine Scholar in Singapore, and a lecturer in Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University. He lectures about data science subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He also holds a Master of Science (International Relations) from S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies and researches about biosecurity issues in Southeast Asia.
